Santa Ana Conditions

86 degrees at the coast, and an hour and a half commute home.  Hot and bright, but clear bright, intensely dry, the deep blue sky and sea holding in all of their moisture.  Light refracting everywhere in the dry, dry air.

Some people hate this weather,  When I moved back here after some time away, I couldn't adjust at first.  October was too hot.  All my clothes were wrong. Now it feels like fall again, childhood memories of windy Halloweens, air laced with wildfire smoke, returning with the desert air from the east.

This spot, north of LA, is in between the devil desert winds and the ocean fogs and right now the desert wins.
